Hi Whole Tomato

Are you planning to incorporate support for Visual Fortran in VA?

Hi Whole Tomato

Sad, this would greatly benefit a number of R&D communities both within academia and industry.

I expect that Visual Assist could reach a new big group of users by implementing this.

I'm just curious - is Visual Fortran IDE still based on VS6?

No, the old discontinued Compaq/Digital Visual Fortran was. Since Intel took over it's an integrated part of VS 2005 .NET.

Do you happen to know if Intel plans to offer their Fortran integrated with VS 2008 (2010?) in the future? We have a few mixed C++/Fortran projects under VS6 that would be nice to update in the future, but we jumped from VS6 directly to VS2008.

Hi wlater

You are not the only person having a pile of VS6 Fortran code.

It would be best to ask Intel if they plan to support future VS releases. According to Intel (http://www.intel.com/software/products/compilers/docs/fwin/getting_started.htm) they are already fully supporting VS 2008.

This link may help you with regard to other Intel Visual Fortran questions: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-visual-fortran-compiler-professional-edition-for-windows-documentation/
