Hi
I always install VS with VA and VIEmu enabled. However just after VA claims to fix /change the highlight colors in recent versions (for example, 1724 and 1722), the text selection color in VS2005 becomes "white background + black text", which is hard for reading. This does not happen on VS2008 (which is still darkray background + black text).
My VS2005 does not have any service pack installed. OS platform is Win7 RC, which also has the VC6 issue, so my only working VA now is the one within 2008... |

So far I cannot reproduce this problem, I am using VS2005, VA 1724 and ViEmu 2.2.9
How, exactly, are you selecting text? With ViEmu installed you can use Vi commands to select text in visual mode, or you can use Visual Studio commands to select text.
I have tried both, and I am not seeing a colour problem here, under Win7 RC. |

If I use mouse or shift+arrow to select text, the text is displayed as white text on blue background. However when I change to using v or shift+V (VIEmu selection) and move cursor, the text becomes white background with black text. (Unfortunately I can't find way to paste screenshots here...)
Note: DWM on with 32 bit color. Note 2: works fine for same programs running on Vista RTM. |

One more note: if I check the Tools/Options/ViEmu/General/"Use Visual Studio Selection for Visual Mode" option, the selection text is fine (white text on blue background). However when I uncheck it, the text becomes black text on white background, which was supposed to be darkgray background |

This FAQ explains attaching images to your posts: http://docs.wholetomato.com?W128
What are you expecting to happen when you use Vi Visual mode to select text? This is a screen shot from a clean machine, it is running VS2005 in its default state and VA has never been installed. Notice the colouring I get when I install ViEmu and use visual mode to select text:
As far as I can tell VA is having zero effect on the colouring that ViEmu is using, and if you do not like the ViEmu colouring this is an issue with ViEmu its self. Am I missing something obvious here? |

I failed regitering to photobucket, so I'd upload the sample screenshot to http://sharebee.com/c9a18bf8
As you can find from the screenshot, VS2008 is working fine while 2005 failed (which is not the colour that ViEmu was configured to).
P.S: Was your screenshot made on Win7? This issue won't occur on Vista. |

P.P.S: From the screenshots, the one above "Use VS Selection for Visual Mode: OFF" is the real bug because I can't see the visual selection background effect.
VS2008 working like your screenshot above (or setting VS selection: ON as blue background) is fine to me because the background colour is working. |
