With build 1734 we have modified the behavior of Suggestion lists to give you better information with less clutter. This behavior may be tweaked using these registry settings in HKCU \\ Software \\ Whole Tomato \\ Visual Assist X \\ [VA6|VANet|VANet8|VANet9]:

DWORD value
InitialSuggestionBoxHeightInItems
defaults to 5
(new behavior - set to higher number to restore old behavior)
sets the initial maximum height (in items) of suggestion lists

binary value
ResizeSuggestionListOnUpDown
defaults to 01
(new behavior - set to 00 to restore old behavior)
pressing up or down causes a switch from the initial size to 10 items (set to 00 to prevent the resize)

binary value
DismissSuggestionListOnUpDown
defaults to 00
(new behavior - set to 01 to restore old behavior)
old behavior would dismiss suggestion list if you were at top/bottom of list and pressed up/down - now it works like the members list (up/down has no effect at top/bottom)

Please let us know what you think about the new Suggestion list behavior.

(Note that these values only have effect for Suggestion listboxes. Suggestions need to be enabled via the VA option "Include suggestions in listboxes.")

The last item, DismissSuggestionListOnUpDown, is going to cause problems. I already have many occasions where I place the cursor, and then, e.g. change a variable name. I get a suggestion list, and since I don't actually want any of the suggestions, I have to take active steps to escape when I am done editing. For this reason, I have learned to start at the bottom of the section and work my way up, so that I can hit up-arrow to move to the next item to be edited. Now, I will need to either hit escape, or use a mouse-click.

I know that you're offering a registry change - I just think that the default should be the old behavior, or you should make it a selection in the configuration.
