When I open the pick dialog from "Open file in solution" it shows me all files in the project.

But with VS you are able to add files also to the solution without a project. I use this for internal documentation and other files.

But files owned by the solution are never shown in this list.

I miss this in all versions since we have this dialog.

Using VS2005 and VA 1814 and a C++ solution I cannot reproduce the problem. I have added two items to the solution, as shown:



and after reloading the IDE they are both listed in the OFIW dialog. The checkbox "Show only files in the current solution" has no effect, the files are shown if it is checked or unchecked.

Am I doing the same thing you are?

I'm able to repro - it is intermittent, dependent upon order of projects listed in the solution. case=40541

case=40541 is fixed in build 1819
