I couldn't find a way to reopen the previously closed Find References tool window, maybe I missed it, otherwise it would be good to have such feature.

You can add an IDE toolbar button for the Visual Assist X command "Find References Results", or bind a keyboard shortcut to the command VAssistX.FindReferencesResults using the IDE keyboard settings.

If you are using Visual Studio 2003/2005/2008/1010, see VAssistX | Tools | Find References Results (alt+X, T, F).
