Posted - Jul 19 2013 : 1:18:03 PM This seems to be a VS API bug that shows up in certain environments. I'm not sure but either way there is a workaround for this: http://docs.wholetomato.com?W327 |

Posted - Jul 19 2013 : 12:52:28 PM another thing to note, this problem does not occur with Visual Studio 2010, which is also installed on my machine - only 2012 has black blocks (and some flickering as well)

Posted - Jul 19 2013 : 12:48:11 PM I confirm the same problem when working through RDP. Even more: it appears when I switch to RDP (the same session, I don't close VS) and vanishes when I return to my computer at work.
It is rather old problem (but not very serious I suppose) and in the latest build it remains. |

Posted - Oct 01 2012 : 08:32:25 AM Hi
I unable to test the problem locally - as the server is a lights-out configuration, so I can only use Remote Desktop.
I have installed the latest VisualAssist - and the problem still occurs.
Its just the icons in the tool windows - the toolbar icons are absolutely fine.

Posted - Sep 28 2012 : 11:07:19 PM - Are you using Visual Studio through remote desktop? If yes, can you please test if the problem happens when you are using Visual Assist directly, without remote desktop? - Is this just the VS icons that aren't showing up, or Visual Assist's toolbar icons as well? Also, would be good to know whether it helps if you install the latest version of Visual Assist. |

Posted - Sep 27 2012 : 4:54:31 PM We got the log files, and asked a developer to look into it to see if it offers any clue why is it happening. In the meantime, can you please try updating Visual Assist to the very latest version to see if it helps?

Posted - Sep 26 2012 : 11:50:56 AM Can you please save log file, so we may be able to see what's the problem?
1. exit Visual Studio 2. turn on logging via registry setting: HKCU \\ Software \\ Whole Tomato \\ Logging = 1 3. start VA 4. open your project and make sure you see the problem 5. exit VS 6. collect and send in the log files
You can learn more about logging and where you find the log files here: http://docs.wholetomato.com?W305
Please send the files in using the following form: http://www.wholetomato.com/support/contact.asp
Make sure to include the URL of this topic in the description field so we can match it up.
Anyway, do you only see this problem in VA windows?
The normal suggestion here usually includes that updating your video card driver may help. I know it's kind of unlikely, but it may worth doing anyway. |
