You might pester your IT staff, or CA, and complain the anti-virus software is generating a false positive.

morten795, maybe you can using process explorer to kill the antivirus software.

Thanks for the reply.

I do NOT have MS Antispyware installed on my machine...

I have Computer Associates eTrust Antivirus installed, so maybe that is doing it? - unfortunately I can't test it just now, since it is a company PC, on which I don't have the rights to disable the virus scanner...

I never uninstall VAX successfully. After jumping out an web page, the uninstaller is failed due to the memory access error!(XP SP2 + VS 2003/2005 Chinese Simplified).

Thanks!

I'm also seeing this issue:

Uinstalling Visual Assist X: gert0.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x1ed0c000" referenced memory at "0x1ed0c00". The memort could not be "read"

This happens consistently with build 1440 and 1418 on my machine:

Windows XP SP2
Intel Xeon 3.4 Ghz
2 GB Ram
Nvidia Quadro FX 1400

It originally happened with build 1440 and I then tried to install build 1418 on top of that one to see if it would then allow me to uninstall, but still not working...

Any solution to this problem?

wndtab? do you mean that plugin for VC6 for adding tabs to the editor? i know of it but cannot remember its name off hand. a google for "wndtab" is not bringing up anything helpful.

os: windows xp pro sp2
ide: visual studio 6, visual c++ .net 2003
control panel -> add/remove programs
other plugin -> wndtab

and 13xx version has no uninstall problem.

thank you!

i have un-installed various builds of VA over time, including some 14xx builds, and i have never seen it crash.

is this a problem that you can reproduce? or was this a one off? which build of VA did you un-install? what OS are you using? which IDE's was it installed into? did you un-install via the control panel -> add/remove programs, or some other method?

do you have any other plugin's installed?
