                Posted - Feb 12 2006 : 08:59:50 AM Hi there,
I'm using VA X 10.2.1440.0 and VS 6.0 Enterprise with sp5 and processor pack for sp5. I'm using Windows ME (4.90.3000) on a Pentium 3 with 1 Ghz. When I start VC++ everything works fine but on exiting the system crashes telling me that "Explorer.exe" has created an unknown error. After that I get several blue screens and I have to turn off the computers' power. When I try to use VA's "Copy Info"-button the system crashes as well. This problem even occurs when I don't load a project but just start VS and then try to shut it down.
In the system requirements it says that only Win 98 is not supported, does this mean that Win ME isn't supported either?
Anyway, I'll try to collect some more info on this error to post.
  Greetings, Pedro |

Posted - Feb 13 2006 : 3:44:22 PM i used to develop under Win98, i can you from personal experience that WinXP is a *much* better OS for developing! my Win98 machine would crash on its own several times a week, something that stopped happening when i moved to Win2k and WinXP. |

Posted - Feb 13 2006 : 08:10:03 AM I suggest you try to use win2k or winxp. Even nt4 is much more better than 9x. |

I have to add two things I forgot: 1. I'm using the unregistered trial version of VA X (installed it today) 2. I don't have any other extensions installed

                Posted - Feb 12 2006 : 09:39:21 AM hi all,
more things that just occured when trying to work with VA: -when trying to switch from VS to another program, e.g. Firefox or Notepad, VA crashes the system as well -when hovering over the buttons in the "Options"-dialog of VA a tooltip pops up but the rest of the dialog disappears. I have to click somewhere to make it appear again.
I probably won't report more bugs unless you ask about specific things or special behaviour because I have to reboot every time, I hope u understand.

when it crashes this message pops up: "Explorer hat in <Unbekannt> einen Fehler verursacht, blablablah"
clicking "Debug" won't work but clicking on "Details" gives this information:
