Since I've upgraded to 10.4.1640.0, I've started getting frequent (average once per four hours usage maybe?) crashes, most noticeably when closing a document tab - not a source module though, but an .xml or .bat file.

Seems to be a null pointer deref by some code in dev studio, if it would be helpful, next time I crash, I could provide more information, stack trace, etc.?

Thanks,
--Chris

Seems to be fixed...I'll complain again if I get another crash. :P

Thanks for your help. --Chris

Thanks for the dump. I've replied from the bug tracking system.

I have the dump file, thank you for this. I have asked our developers if they can work out what the problem is:

case=18307

I have submitted a minidump per your request. Thanks for your help!

There is nothing odd here, and I am not aware of anyone else reporting this problem.

Are these document files normally opened from you local drive, or are you opening them from some form of network drive?

Hopefully the mini dump will help.

There are no other add-ins.
I was previously running 1626.

Can you please go to:

VA Options -> System Info -> Copy Info

and paste the details (from the clipboard) into your reply. This will give us the basic information about your setup.

Do you have any other IDE plugin's installed?
Do you remember the previous version of VA that you were using? Did you see this crash before? I am wondering if it is a new problem, or has just gotten worse.

Next time this crashes can you please debug the crash and produce a mini dump file? This should help offer some clues as to the problem. Please submit the files via the form:

http://www.wholetomato.com/support/contact.asp

including this thread ID or URL in the description, so we can match it up.
