Posted - Jan 21 2009 : 9:04:45 PM Hello again, sorry for spamming your forum with (maybe) not so important topic, but this problem is quite anoying for me - but it's up to you to decide it's relevant or not.
First, my status info:
quote: VA_X.dll file version 10.5.1711.0 built 2008.12.11 Licensed to: VA X: [email protected] (5-user license) Support ends 2009.09.24 VA.NET 7.1: BRD CULT DevEnv.exe version 7.10.3077.0 msenv.dll version 7.10.3077.0 Font: Courier New 13(Pixels) Comctl32.dll version 5.82.2900.2982 Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 2 processors

I have turned on "Suggestions/Include bits of code...".
1) Have this line:
quote:
2) Want to add "status =" in front of the function:
quote:
3) VA X shows me immediately some suggestions or whatever; I'm not interested and I'm going to press END key to move at the end of the line and then press ENTER to move to the new line.
quote:
4) Unfortunately, when I'm at the end of line, VA shows me "extended" suggestion box (or delayed suggestion box with much more choices) immediately...
quote:
5) ...and when I press ENTER I accept that choice.
quote:
Well, if I press END key and I change the typying location, should be VA X suggestion box be forgotten?
Thanks, Petr |

Posted - Jan 27 2009 : 07:35:44 AM Sorry about the delay in reply. I've captured small video which shows the similar the effect. Wanted to write "pid;" and press ENTER. VA shows suggestion box after ";" and when I press ENTER (to go to the new line), VA inserts "pid" again and I get "pid;pid". Download it here: http://public.avast.com/~kurtin/whole2.avi.
VA X settings: http://public.avast.com/~kurtin/20090127133200.reg (or in ZIP: http://public.avast.com/~kurtin/20090127133200.zip) My VS environment settings is not available, because I use VS 2k3. |

Posted - Jan 22 2009 : 5:46:40 PM It's not a spam. It seems like a bugreport And we are here to help.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce your problem here. I created a situation, where I typed from the beginning of the line and a suggestion listbox appeared after pressed '=' key, and was focused by default. But the suggestion listbox disappeared for me after I had pressed END.
If I understand correctly you did that same as me: You pressed END after you had typed '=' (so the listbox appeared). Is this the case?
The solution may lies in your settings. Can you please export your VA and IDE settings and send them to me:
VA Options -> Performance -> Export Settings IDE tools menu -> Import and Export Settings -> Export selected environment settings
You can send them easily by this form: http://www.wholetomato.com/support/contact.asp
Please indicate the thread ID or URL in the description, so we can match it up.
If I load them here, maybe I will be able to reproduce this bug. |
