I just loaded up 1734, and I could not get the new Suggestion List behavior to work.
Looking through the registry file, it appears that the new keys listed in http://forum.wholetomato.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8981 do not appear in any of these locations: VA6|VANet|VANet8|VANet9. I tried pressing OK in the VAX dialog, and restarting VS2008. No luck.

Sigh. I just realized that I had "Include suggestions in listboxes" disabled, which explains why it wasn't working. My apologies.

In build 1734, you will have to create the values yourself if you want to try different behavior. For VS2008, you need to create the values at:
HKCU\\Software\\Whole Tomato\\Visual Assist X\\VANet9
