This seems so obvious I don't know how it was overlooked.
(pardon me if it has been added since 10.5)
The "Surround With (VAX)" context menu should have
"/* ... */"

You can also add your own items to the "Surround With (VAX)" context menu, since this menu simply lists all of the VA Snippets for the current language that use $selected$ |

Are you aware that you can do this by pressing '/' ?
This surround doesn't have snippet since it's handled specially. |
