This seems so obvious I don't know how it was overlooked.
(pardon me if it has been added since 10.5)

The "Surround With (VAX)" context menu should have
"/* ... */"

Are you aware that you can do this by pressing '/' ?
This surround doesn't have snippet since it's handled specially.

You can also add your own items to the "Surround With (VAX)" context menu, since this menu simply lists all of the VA Snippets for the current language that use $selected$
