VS6 - When a file is modified externally and VS reloads the file, all set bookmarks are removed. Checking a file in to source control may modify the file and then you loose your bookmarks, which is annoying. |

We believe this behavior in VC6 exists without VA installed. The IDE tosses bookmarks if it sees a file has been modified externally.
We take your posting as a feature request though we are not sure to what level it can be addressed. Bookmarks may not apply to a modified file, particularly if modifications are significant. |

Not sure about this, and so far I havent noticed it happening (using VS6 and Source Safe since its release).
Anyway I would expect that they are kept at least if there are only minor changes to the file, or changes which do not affect locations with bookmarks. |

Nope, VS6 tosses bookmarks when you reload a file. In fact, even if there are no changes, but the IDE thinks (bazed I guess on timestamp) that a new version is available, it still tosses your bookmarks.
I imagine that working around this behavior would require algorithms akin to writing a "WinDiff" type application: not impossible, but not trivial, either...
