I've just installed the latest beta, and I can't type into the VS.NET editor anymore. Disabling VA X results in everything working fine.

Okay, I haven't wanted to mention this, but since russquin brought it up...
Something strange has been happening to me, but I always assumed it was because I'm getting used to a new keyboard (an original MS Natural Keyboard Pro, before they screwed up the design), or maybe a key is sticking...
Anyway, often, when I do an Alt-Tab to switch to another application, and then do another Alt-Tab to come back, the IDE acts as if I still have the Alt key down. I'll be merrily typing away, not noticing that my keystrokes aren't being entered in the CPP file, until it eventually executes a menu command (which is usually something annoying like adding a new Icon to the RC file).
Like I say, I've been assuming it's either (a) my stupid fingers, or (b) a sticky keyboard key. But is anyone else noticing this behavior?

i just literally cannot type anything, no key presses are recognised.
Enable visual assist, nothing works, even after clicking in the editor window, alt-tabbing into it, playing around with window focuses, etc.
As soon as I disable VA, all is fine. |

Russquinn, Any other addins installed? Do the arrow keys work?
Mind enabling logging on the performance tab of the VA options dialog, reproducing the problem and exit the IDE? This should create two log files c:\\va.log and c:\\vassist.log, please zip and send to [email protected].
Larry, we have noticed this behavior as well and are working on a fix. |

Russ: Do you have any other add-ins installed? If so, do you mind disabling or uninstalling them to see if you have a conflict? |

No, I don't have any other add-ins installed. Just VA X. |

Hello all,
I must say I did notice the behavior Russell described, but it was before I've installed the latest beta (build 1213). I didn't encounter this since the last build, but since I saw it only seldomly (I can't reproduce it at will), this doesn't neccesarily mean this effect has gone.
With kind regards, Patrick Luja |
