I can't reproduce this, but it happened. I had this comment in my code:

// Free the temp BSTR

Being a perfectionist, I corrected this to:

// Free the temp BSTR.

... and moved on. A few seconds (a several dozen keystrokes later), I noticed that the line now read:

// Free the temp BSTR->

... which I know I didn't do. Darned if I can reproduce it, though. Does "Convert . to -> " work in comments?

Converting should not work in comments. We found a scope problem in build 1219 that might have caused your problem. That fix will be in build 1220.

We will walk through our code, set a few breakpoints, and make sure what we expect to happen does happen.

Let us know if the problem recurs in 1220.
