Two symptoms that point to the same problem, I bet.
1). Re-start the IDE, and be sure you don't have it set to open the most recent project, so that it comes up to an empty state. Now use the AppWizard to create a project of any kind. Note that once you're done, the FIW combobox is empty, and nothing will make it populate, except reopening the project.
2). Same as (1), but have an old project open when you use AppWizard to create a new project. Note that the FIW has stale filenames in it, from the old project, and nothing will make it correct itself, except reopening the project.

Both will be fixed in 1219.
Correction: Fix is only for VS.NET. |

Thanks for fixing it in .NET - I didn't know it was happening there, too.
But are you also saying, "We see the bug in VC6, and will get to it someday," or "We think the bug does not exist in VC6"?

We do see the problem in VC6. The IDE fails to tell us when the new projects loads. We will need to put some trickery to check after the fact. Saving this until we get a release out.
