After I instsalled this built, my tooltip selection background changed to black. Can I override this to other lighter color so that I can see what is highlighted?
Thanks. |

We are not sure what a "tooltip selection background" is.
Are you saying your tooltips have a dark background? VA X should not tweak the setting. In any regard, you can set it by reading this thread:

No, I think he means the background (highlight) color of the selected item in the various VAX listboxes, which for some odd reason seems to be taken from the Desktop color. I just changed my desktop color to red, and sure enough, the VAX listbox selected items now have a red background. Oops! Sounds like someone coded it to use ::GetSysColor(), but chose the poorly named COLOR_BACKGROUND (aka COLOR_DESKTOP), instead of COLOR_HIGHLIGHT.

Hi,
Larry is right on. I meant the highlight in the tooltip has changed to black on this newer version. Somehow after I played with the color settings for a while, it is back to normal.
Thanks! |

Okay, in 1223, you've apparently replaced COLOR_BACKGROUND with some kind of hard-wired medium-gray color, which, as far as I can tell, doesn't come from the system colors (ala ::GetSysColor()). This doesn't work; I use white as the selected text color. Why can't we just use COLOR_HIGHLIGHT, so VAX listboxes will work like every other listbox on my system??

VA X uses COLOR_HIGHLIGHT if coloring is not applied to listboxes.
VA X uses a sligthly darker version of text background if coloring is applied to listboxes. We realize the contrast is not great enough when your background is dark. We expect to tweak our scheme in the next build or two. |
