two machine is winxp + sp1 + vc6
three machine is win2000 + vc6
when I install the version 1219,at the last process of install,it out a dialog and tell me loadlibrary(c:\\program files\\visual assist x\\va_x.dll) failed.getlasterror returns 0x0000045a.
the five machines is the same problem.but when i install the 1216 it is fine...how did the 1219 different from the 1216?or is the bug of 1219?thx |

I am experiencing the same problem using W2K SP3, VC6, with Visual Assist 6.0 1106 (registered) installed.
Unfortunately, I uninstalled 6.0 hoping this would allow VA-X to install - it didn't, and now 6.0 1106 will not re-install. :( On VC6 startup it reports, "Error unpacking program, code 2." This is the same error the VA-X installer gives before the "GetLastError returns 0x45a" message appears.

Does 1018 crash? If so, can you get a callstack?
Any other clues?

With VA-X v1219 I get the following call stack when attaching and breaking on the "GetLastError returned" messagebox:
...
USER32! MessageBoxA@16 + 36 bytes
GINSTALL! 1000276d()
GINSTALL! 1000178b()
GINSTALL! 10004e4e()
VA_X_SETUP1219! 004019de()
Also, I've found that the most recent version of VA6 that I can install successfully is VA6Setup1101.exe. 1105, the next installer I have after that, fails.

no any system debug..test it in the new setup win2000 system it is the same:(...
my system langugage is chinese,did it effect? |

It seems there is a problem with build 1219 only. I've downloaded build no.1218, replaced 1219 with this one and all is working fine now...
Btw, I have no system debugger installed and I'm running on english WinXP with SP1. |
