The property pages for the current BETA does not handle large fonts correctly. This is not a major issue, but it does not look good on a huge screen...

Can you explain the problem? Post or send us a small screen shot of the problem?

We changed Font size in the Appearance tab of Display Properties on XP. Everything in our options dialog appears fine.

The issue here is not with the font size selection in the Appearance tab of the Display properties. That option merely selects a predefined set of fonts for the various window elements, the same thing you can do in more detail in the Advanced button of the Appearance tab. It has no effect on dialog fonts or the size and layout of dialogs.

Pontus is referring to the DPI setting which you can change from the Settings tab of Display properties by clicking the Advanced button. Change the DPI setting from "Normal size (96 DPI)" to "Large size (120 DPI)". Reboot when it asks you to, and then try the Options dialog in VA-X. Several of the text strings will be clipped.

This DPI setting changes the logical display dots per inch that Windows reports to applications, and it selects a larger dialog font.

Basically, you always need to test all visual appearance on a machine set to 120 DPI as well as 96 DPI.

Here is an example of the problem:

p.s. A related problem: Note the horizontal scroll bar in the tree view on the left. This tree view should be made wider so that horizontal scrolling is never required in either 96 DPI or 120 DPI mode.

p.p.s. If you really want to do it right, test this dialog with a few Custom DPI modes such as 150 DPI as well as the usual 96 and 120.
