I pressed the Tech Support butten accidently while using VC++6 - a message box popped up warning of a buffer overrun detected in/by the C runtime library, and VC disappeared.
Pressing the button again (after restarting VC6) just causes VC6 to terminate, no message.
It may be because my list of include directories is long - the 'body' part of the mailto: URI is truncated part way through the list of directories (there's 2035 characters in the URI).
Anyway, here's the info. it's trying to put in the mail message:
mailto:[email protected]?subject= &body=VA_X.dll file version 10.0.1237.0 Licensed to: VA X: VA 6.0: [email protected] (1-user license) VA 4.1: [email protected] (1-user license) VAOpsWin.dll version 1.0.0.44 MSDev.exe version 6.0.9782.2 Devshl.dll version 6.0.9782.0 Devedit.pkg version 6.0.9782.0 Font: Courier New 12(Pixels) Comctl32.dll version 5.81.4807.2300 WindowsNT 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 2 Single processor
Platform: Custom Stable Includes: D:\\u404261\\Lib\\libxml2\\libxml2-2.6.2.win32\\include\\libxml; { and another 9k of includes which I won't put in the message } |

We can reproduce the crash.
case=102
We are curious. Did you create your long custom list manually, or with the Paste icon in the C/C++ Directories dialog? If the latter, we assume you put one long time in the clipboard before the paste. We have in mind to allow the clipboard to contain separate lines. |

Sorry I've not replied before now...but, yes, I created the list of directories with dir /s and a text editor and then pasted into VA X. The main reason for such a large list was the Boost library include directories (482 of them). To make that sort of task easier, it';d be nice if you could specify a directory tree via the root only (and some switch to turn on recursive file scanning), rather than having to enter all the directories... |

Problem is fixed in latest build, ie 1240+. As well, you can paste a multi-line clipboard into our custom directories. This should help your predicament. Generate an expanded list external of the IDE, tweak with Notepad and paste into our dialog.
