It could be beneficial to filter the Symbols list by namespace, ideally so that symbols were visible according to the namespace at the caret. Perhaps the could be a controllable option - to enable 'foreign' symbols to be available if required?

If you don't use

using namespace <whatever>;

it does work. If you do use "using namespace" then why are you using namespaces?

julianwb, are you telling that you see too many symbols in the VA View (HCB - hovering class browser) ?? More than you should see according to the current context? If so, please report this to [email protected], best with screenshot.

No - not a bug. Just a request that "Symbols In Workspace" might be extended to permit "Symbols in Namespace n" when viewing the list.

So you want to extend what you see? Why not use the object browser?

Hello,

I'm extensively working in Visual Studio 6. I think that Visual Assist adds the features that Visual Studio 6 should have had when it left Microsoft...

There still one thing that is, in my opinion, missing and that would be great if it got implemented. I'm talking about the ability to display classes grouped by the namespace they belong to. I'm using namespaces very often since they add the needed level of "encapsulation" or indirection. It's pitty that the Class Viewer or (VA viewer) do not allow for displaying the classes based on their namespace.

The Visual Studio .NET does that but unfortunatelly, I have to work in Studio 6.

Do you think it this feature would be worth implementing?

Thank you,

David
