Fairly often I rename local variables, and I'm too lazy to do a selection-specific search & replace (I don't want to lift my hands off the keyboard).

If you do this, you'll often get a suggestion listbox while replacing characters in the middle of a symbol. At this point, I don't want the suggestion listbox to come up (I don't think it knows to suggest the new symbol name anyway). What I do want to do is arrow around to the next symbol, but the suggestion listbox gets in the way -- I have to hit Esc to dismiss it.

Yet another example of why the arrow keys shouldn't be used for the listboxes and tooltips.

Nels - have you tried using Ctrl-Down or Ctrl-Left to dismiss the listboxes? That seems to be a decent workaround, since your fingers are probably already tapping one of those keys...

Next 1228 will no longer offer suggestions in the middle of a symbol.

Whoohoooo!!!
I hope that Ctrl+Space in the middle of a symbol will still work though.

I'm sure it will... I hear they're dropping support for templates, though... (ducking)

I know, me too. Otherwise my answer would have been "which support for templates?"
