Something strange happens to IE for me, and since it happens both at work and at home, I've narrowed it down (I think) to either IeSpell, or Snitz forums.
Very often, when I'm posting a message to this Forum, like I'm doing now, IE will act as if I accidentally hit the Alt key: suddenly, the menu is activated, and eventually (if I don't notice it in time) I'll randomly execute a menu command.
Am I accidentally hitting the Alt key? No, I don't think so, for three reasons. First, I have a MS Natural keyboard at work, and a plain vanilla 104 keyboard at home. Second, this never happens to me in any other application, or at any other website. Third, it's happened to me several times when I've had my left hand not on the keyboard, and my right hand tapping the 'Del' or spacebar keys: neither hand being anywhere near either Alt key.
Anyone else seen this?

i get this at home using IE6 and IESpell on a different forum. that forum uses a PHP forum system. i dont think i have ever seen this at work.
at work (where i am now) i am running IESpell 1.1.0.665
i am going to guess you are using a different, newer build of IESpell. possibly the same build i am running at home. |

Hmmm... I'm using 2.0.1.325 in both places. I've emailed IeSPell's tech support, so we'll see... thanks for the feedback, I thought I was going nuts for a while there... |

i know what you mean, i have been puzzling over this for weeks at home. i will try switching to an older version of IE Spell at home, and see if that helps.
of course, given the random nature of this, it will take a while to be sure if it has helped. |

Larry, did you try disabling or uninstalling VAX? Are you running VS.NET in the background? Did you try closing it while posting to the forums?
Damn, its not more 1st of April, isnt it? |

No, I haven't tried that yet... but now that you mention it, I have noticed that my coffee tastes better with VAX disabled...
Hey, do they drink coffee where you are? <ducking!>

Actually, I didnt notice any difference in my coffee but the Coke stays longer cold when VAX is enabled. And, yes, they do drink coffee here, and actually the second best coffee I've ever drunk. If you ever get a chance to try a brand called "Caf+? do Ponto - Export", dont miss it. |

Only second best? Don't let the locals hear you say that!
Where is the best though? Must be somewhere I haven't been. |

at the risk of getting off the topic of coffee since i downgraded IE spell on my home machine from 2. something back to 1.1.0.665 i haven't had any problems with the menus in IE getting activated. so this looks like it has solved the problem i was having with this |
