I see some are using build 1237 but the official latest beta is 1233. I know in some posts Whole Tomato will put out a beta release bigger than 1233 but why don't they release it with a sticky like 1233? Are these alpha beta's and still not qualifing for a beta release?
they are being posted in the private beta test forum, and people are busily finding and reporting bugs with them.
it seems that WT only post the builds with a sticky once they are satisfied that they are sufficently safe and stable for general beta testing. quite sensible really
also, support to post links to the newer builds in specific threads in the public forum if the build contains a fix or attempted fix for that specific bug. this is normally colouring bugs.
The problem comes when "private" testers accidentally reveal in the public forums that they are using a newer version than the latest public beta. Then everyone else is naturally curious about it.
This is what I am curious about: I am using v. 1230. I downloaded it while it was still marked as beta in download section. Now it is marked as "General release". Is it still the same binary now as when it was marked as beta ? I surely hope so, otherwise it would be really confusing. That is after you publish something for download marked as particular version, the binary for this version stays the same, right ?
