in VS .NET 2003 i managed to turn on the document outline window by mistake a few days ago. its key combo of ctrl_alt_t is quite similar to shift_alt_t (transpose lines).
the problem is that i cannot get rid of this window :( it is set to auto hide on the right side of VS. however it never opens. since i cannot make it open, i cannot get to the close button to get rid of the window.
does anyone know what i have to do to make this window open so i can close it? or even where the settings are stored for open windows, so i can turn it off that way? |

When I click on the "tab" for the window, it makes it open, which will then allow me to close it. Does that not happen for you?

As jpizzi wrote and if that doesnt help, open a HTML file then this window becomes available. |

*bangs head on desk*
clicking on it does nothing. if i lock VA View open (also set to auto hide on the right side) then if i hover my mouse over document outline a featureless grey rectangle appears over the top of VA View. it has no content, no title bar, and no close button. after this disappears, it wont reappear. i have to unlock VA View and then lock it again before i can make this grey rectangle appear a second time.
i get exactly the same effect in a HTML file, in both HTML and design view

Blasphemer? until i discovered VAX i refused to edit ANY code in VS, and only used it as a compiler. i did all of my editing in VIM, and was even looking into how to run VS from VIM. see how far i have already traveled down the road towards, towards, towards...
what am i saying? we all know what VS is like |
