I've seen a lot of messages about resolving paths on the "C/C++ Directories" tab, so maybe this is old hat, but crap this is annoying.
I have folder on the network that has some source code of my own. It's at R:\\My Documents\\PersonalDocuments\\SourceCode\\_LalCommon . How in God's name am I supposed to get the files in that folder to show up when I do Alt-shift-O???????
The files in that folder are in my "Project", and the doc says, "By default, Visual Assist X searches for implementations in all source files in your projects and source files found using IDE settings." So why on Earth can't VAX open them?????
I've even tried putting that path in every combination of "Stable Include Files" *AND* "Stable Source Files" *AND* "Source Files". Nothing works.
I'm sure someone can tell me the *TRICK* I'm missing to get this to work, but crap, if *I* can't get the thing to work, what chance do you think Joe Sixpack walking in cold to this program has? This is the kind of thing that leads test-drivers to *instantly* uninstall a demo: I open my project, try to open a file to work on, and it's not in the list. Zap, out it goes!
(Yes, I am on an unusual number of medications today, and one of the side-effects is IRRITABILITY.)

Well, I'm back from vacation, and installed 1239, and this is still broken. Wassup with this?

Thanks for the pointer, but that's not it.
I have this in the IDE's "Additional Include Directories":
"C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\system\\ado";
"C:\\CMSource\\Source Code\\LalCommon";
"R:\\My Documents\\PersonalDocuments\\SourceCode\\_LalCommon" (I added the carriage returns just to make it fit on your screen.) So why can't VAX find any of my files in the folder on the R: drive?? It's just plain broken, as far as I can tell...

VA "should" find all files in your workspace without having to modify your include paths, but there are cases where VA is unable to derive the correct path from the IDE/project files. We have fixed most of the issues, however it seems that there is still more work to be done.
Can you enable logging and then open the project? This will create a file c:\\va.log, please zip and send to support.

Do you mind resending your log? It's been an hour and we have yet to see it. |

We just discovered the OFIW dialog fails to show the last entry in the list. Reverse sort what was the first no longer appears.

Does clicking the File or Path heading in the OFIW dialog make items appear?
Nope.

Interesting, but probably unrelated - I'm missing dozens of files, not just one...
