Is the problem the contents or the coloring??? The title says coloring, but I've never seen an email in a tooltip before. Looks pretty bad to me.

As you may see, its the contents of a char* named pMMF. The tooltip shows the contents during debugging.

Didn't notice it amongst the jumble of data being displayed. So are you thinking that this tooltip should not be coloring the data contained in the pointer? I mean, I wouldn't expect it to, just like it doesn't color the text between quotes. So I would definitely call this a bug.

We cannot reproduce the problem.

Does the errant coloring occur with all string tooltips during debugging? Only of certain ones?

It seems to occur with all string type debug tooltips containing long data.

As you can see in the shot, the problem starts after the first line break. So it may be related to this. Maybe VAX looses its scope through the line break.
