I tried VAX V10.0.1230.0 in VS 6 and VS .net. And the starting of both IDEs seems to be much longer than before. Is this because the installation of VA? Is there any way to higher the performance?

The first opening of a project after installation of VA X may require considerable time -- many system headers need to be parsed and cached. Thereafter, opening of projects should be relatively painless.

Headers found in our list of "Stable include files" are parsed and cached after installation, and thereafter every week or so. The more headers found in the list of "Stable include files," the faster your projects open. The caveat is that changes to these headers are not noticed immediately. One assumes this is okay for MFC and 3rd party libraries.

VA X builds its list of "Stable include files" from IDE settings. You can see your value in the "Projects|C/C++ Directories" node of the VA X options dialog. All other headers are parsed, albeit not a full parse, when a project opens.

If your projects takes long to open the second time you open them, check your list of "Stable include files." Do you have 3rd-party libraries that ought to be in the list? Let us know and we can help you get them there.
