In 10% of the cases I type a variable name (no matter if locale, class member or whatever) the suggestion box pops up and hangs for 20-30 seconds (title of VS.NET 2003 changing to: "application not responding"). Reverted back to 1245 and the problem is gone.
Task manager shows no suspecious activity (99% is spend in empty dummy process)
P4 2.8 GHz with HT enabled.

I don't have any other plugins installed. 1245 does the same. Reverted back to last version I used before downloading the update(s). With 1237 I don't have these problems... |

This may be a different problem, but I'm experiencing total IDE lockup (have to end via Task Manager) with build 1246; it occurs randomly a few times a day. Going back to build 1240 (the next most recent version I have) seems to be more stable. The only other add-ins I have loaded are Eluent Tools and Fast Solution Build. |

Recently another application (Spybot - Search & Destroy) also hang randomly and when searching for a fix, I found a forum where a guy posted "start the application, open task manager, click on "processes", right click on the applications process, "set afinity", toggle the 2nd CPU off, click OK, close task manager.
All of sudden the program didn't hang anymore! Perhaps this is the same problem with VAX? I will install 1246 again and each time I start .NET 2003 I will use the aforementioned procedure to make sure that .NET 2003 is only using the first CPU. If VAX doesn't hang then anymore, I guess WT has a multi CPU problem.
A normal P4 HT-enabled system is enough to break a few applications out there, even though the 2nd CPU is only virtual...

support often ask if people are running a second CPU, so there could be something to this theory. |

I have a 2-CPU system and I'm experiencing the same problem in 1246. A few times a day it just locks up and I have to kill off VS.NET. Didn't happen before 1246 ... |

I have severe hangs on a single CPU system too. Dont think its related to the CPU. But its related to VAX |

I am using 1246 on a dual Xeon which makes it look like 4 CPUs because of hyperthreading and I have no problems with VAX in VS6 and VSNET2003 - after getting the startup crash fix of 1242.
Can anybody use WinDbg to attach to a hanging devenv.exe to produce a mini dump? That might help the support team. |

I just tried to use only one CPU for the whole devenv.exe process (set afinity...) and now it doesn't hang anymore. |

We are still trying to reproduce this problem. No luck. Keep sending clues.
We appreciate your patience and assistance. |

Where is WT located? Perhaps somebody with the problem can bring his machine to analyze the problem further.

I have also seens IDE hangs with 1246, where the IDE is not using any CPU, and I have to kill the process. I hope a correction will be available soon.
