I installed VA_X onto my system that has Visual C++ .NET 2003 and Visual C++ 6.0. When setting it up in VC6, I created a toolbar with some additional VA commands that looks like this:

The only problem is the buttons pointed to by the arrows don't do anything. Those commands do work if I right click in the breakpoint area and bring up the VA context menu. I have reset the key bindings for VA_X and everything.. still doesn't work.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Andrew

Here's my build/about info:

VA_X.dll file version 10.0.1246.0
Licensed to: xxx
VAOpsWin.dll version 1.0.0.44
MSDev.exe version 6.0.8168.1
Devshl.dll version 6.0.8168.0
Devedit.pkg version 6.0.8168.0
Font: Terminal -12(Pixels)
Comctl32.dll version 5.82.2800.1106
WindowsNT 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 1
2 processors

do these buttons work in VS .NET 2003?

do you actually have some text / lines selected when pressing these buttons? sort selected lines button works for me in .NET 2003 with VAX 1246

Cool arrows.

You found three commands that do not work from the toolbar. Just your luck.
case=68

We expect a fix in the next one or two builds.

For now, sort using an item in our Context Menu. Shift+Right+Click in the source window.

As for braces and parens, we strongly recommend our "Surround selection" feature. The toolbar buttons you have are quite old, i.e. before we thought of "Surround selection."

Admin,

Does this mean that the toolbars are gonna be updated (reset) again in the next few builds?

My last reset didn't when well (for those whom have access to the private forum: Here's the topic I describe this in). If there is another reset of the toolbars comming up, I'll wait until that build to reset my toolbars.

Thanks.

With kind regards,
Patrick Luja

You might need a reset of the toolbar in VC++ 6.0 -- this is no big deal since you do not lose any custom settings.

We try desparately to avoid resets in VS.NET. We do not expect the fix for thse toolbar icons to mandate such a reset.

Thanks so much!

I'll try the surround selection feature. I just upgraded from 4.x so I had never seen either of these options and thought it might come in handy on my toolbar :) I saw that the sort worked from the context menu.. Boy that beats the heck out of loading text into excel, sorting and then pasting back. Thank you!
