Hi,
just recently I have bought a copy of VAX and really like it. Especially the AutoText/Template stuff.
However, what I'd be able to do is define AutoText/Template for SQL files, i.e. scripts and stored procedures etc. I do not require any additional features of VAX for SQL scripts (for now :)) but enabling AutoText/Templates would be great.
Maybe I have missed anything, but is there a way to add custom file types/extensions to the list of supported AutoText/Template files?
TIA

No luck currently. You cannot define autotext/templates for SQL. |

if you feel upto tackling VIM (available for windows www.vim.org) then i can help you to achieve something very close to autotext in any file.
however, the learning curve will be fairly steep, if you are going to use VIM effectively.
templates would be a bit harder, but depending on what you want, something may be possible through the cunning use of macros and functions. |

Ho, ho, I never thought I'd see VA moderators recommending vi as a solution! |

Why not...
..as long as he stops doing that when WT has implemented this feature. I am adding this to the wishlist, but I cannot estimate if or when it will be implemented.

lets be fair, i recommended vim as a solution, not vi
even with the power of VAX, there are still some things it is easier to do in vim, specifically anything requiring manipulating numbers in files with a macro. |
