I foolishly pressed Post New Reply on a different thread when I was not logged in. A helpful message told me I was not logged in, and click a link to go back and fix the problem. I did so, and the entire text of my post was missing from the page . I had to re-enter it from scratch. From now on, I will copy the post text to the clipboard before pressing the scary Send button.
By the way, is "shop talk" like this best suited for the Lounge forum?

kevinsikes, i have had this nasty experience with many different boards and forums
for real upset, ctrl_w closes the window. however, in VS .NET it selects the current word, so if you accidentally press this to select the current word...
the only solution seems to be regularly copying the post text into notepad as you go.
