I was not sure where to post this. So please move it if there is a better section here for it.
I am totaly new to this. And is just testing the plug in. But the toolbar to the right is kind of irritating me. Is it possible to take it away. The one where it adds the opened files in the project and so on.

From the toolbar, choose VAssistX, Tools, VAView to toggle it off and on.

this menu wont turn VA View off in .NET 2003 while it is running, but you can easily close it by using the close icon in its top right hand corner. |

That's a bug then, because the menu item certainly turns it *on*. It should also turn it off, or it doesn't belong on the menu, it belongs as a checkbox in the Options dialog. |

FWIW, VSIP gives us a way, just barely, to create a view. It offers no way to eliminate one. |

I think you're misunderstanding me.
The bug is not that the toggling doesn't work - I fully accept that this is a MS shortcoming. "I'm shocked - shocked! - to find gambling going on here!"
The bug is that you're using a UI metaphor that indicates toggling *is* possible: a menu item. Since toggling is not possible, this need to be a checkbox in the Options dialog, or something.

We built this bit of the UI before realizing we did not have a failsafe method to close programmatically the VA View.
"Enable VA View" appears and works, as you expect, in our options dialog for VC++ 6.0. We should do the same for VS.NET, and remove the entry in the VAssistX menu.
...or we rename our menu entry to "Enable VA View."
We are reluctant to do any of this since the fix requires a reset of VS.NET during install. |
