When you highlight a block in Visual Studio 6.0, the last line you highlighted does not comment. I can highlight past the line to comment the entire block, but I think a partial highlight of a line should comment that line as well. It would probably be nice if there was an option of which action you would prefer. |

vivekpara, do a search of the forum. Stephen has very good reasons for not wanting to see any and every idea turned into an option.
as for highlighting, using VC6 and VAX 1287 if i make the following selection:
and then press '/' all three lines are commented out. |

I'm sure he does...just was very surprised at the extremity of his response considering I had no idea where it had come from. Just trying to be funny. =(
Actually, if you do it from the bottom up, sometimes it does NOT work in VC 6. I've tried it a number of times...and you're right...sometimes it works...and sometimes it doesn't. Top down always seems to work, as far as I can tell.
It seems like it will WORK if you comment down first and then reverse...but if you do it from the bottom up a few times, it will NOT work.
VAAAAARRRYYYY confusing... |

vivekpara, extra options is just a sensitive topic, since us forum regulars see the request SO many times. if all of these options were added... well, imagine 2,000 options in the settings dialog *rolls eyes*
*ahha* for me when selecting from the bottom up i can get it to fail every time in both VC6 and .NET 2003
