Hi, I'm running VA X 1298, on VS.NET.
Occasionally, whilst editing code- I'm suddenly getting the colouring and contents of either previous or the current line going crazy, see:
Unfortunately, I can't work out what the circumstances are that reproduce the problem at present - it's only happened 2-3 times.
When it happens, VS.NET still carries on, oblivious to the cause - closing the suggestion box doesn't fix it, and strangly enough, the weird random characters on the line actually change if you just leave VS.NET alone for a few seconds!
It also appeared that, on selecting the offending line that it was displaying the contents of the line which followed it in the source. However, after about 45 seconds of trying to work out what the cause was, it just appears to fix itself and go back to normality.
Not expecting miracles, just wondering if anyone had seen any similar oddness in their version of VAX in VS.NET?! |

Wacko!
We're curious. Does enhanced syntax coloring work for you?
We have not seen the abnomality but will watch for it. We appreciate you trying to isolate the circumstances in which it might happen. |

I've seen it, lots of times, but very infrequently, always on VS2003.
Like you say, it's relatively harmless, and tends to go away by itself.
No idea how to repro. |

Enhanced syntax colouring works fine, although in the case in question it did appear to be whilst adding a new line which had not yet been successfully coloured....
I've enabled VAX logging now, so if it happens again, I'll let you know... |

Just a reminder: The VAX-Log-Setting is not persistent (doesn't survive an IDE restart), so you have to enable it again after every start of the IDE. |

Hello RichB!
I've seen this effect and I could even reproduce it. I'm using Outline Saver, and this effect occurs if the outline file doesn't match to the current code, e.g. if you just copy the code and keep the old outline file. I could eliminate the problem by simply deleting the outline file.

are you using this outline saver
http://www.bigeneric.com/software/outlinesaver/index.php ?
by the sounds of it this plugin may be doing thing that the IDE does not know about. VA also does things that the IDE does not know about so it is possible that the two plugin's are clashing, which could cause problems. |

I've gotten this a couple times as well, but no real solid way to reproduce it. Last time I got it I pasted a function name for the implementation I was writing. In all cases it does go away after a few seconds. |

I have sudden font corruptions with VS6 & VAX .1301 and sometimes moving the caret is extremely slow. After switching from VA View to some other property page, i.e. Class View, caret moving works with normal speed. |

in the bottom half of VAView (the HCB) can you try right clicking and see if turning off "show current scope when typing" helps? |
