Hello all,
I have a little suggestion to make. Since I'm not a native English speaker (nor writer), I often doubt if words (inside comments and strings) are spelled in a right way. If I spell a word in a wrong way, it will take a little while before the red line beneath it will appear. So I'm always waiting and I'm unsure if a word is spelled right or wrong. My current (and time consuming) solution is to make an error, wait and check how it should be spelled...but that is not an easy way to do this.
I propose to add a message to the context menu, stating that the spelling of this word is correct. And since we've come to the context menu... Might it be possible to display (as a sub-menu in the context menu) other words that are spelled likewise (just like the case that I spelled the word wrongly)?
If it isn't possible to add data to the context menu, you might consider drawing an orange line beneath words that you haven't recognised yet. This way, I will know that the word is spelled correctly when the line disappears.
I hope you come up with something nice. Thank you.
With kind regards, Patrick Luja |

i do like this idea, since i also do this in order to make sure the spell checker has caught up with me
*considers* i suspect underlining non spell checked words will run into problems with the parser not being up to date with any very recent file changes.
since the current spell checker replaces the right click menu, rather than extending it, i suspect the same would need to happen here. the question becomes, is this an acceptable idea? since i rarely use the right click menu this does not bother me to much, but what do other people think? |

Dear feline,
I also don't use this context menu often, but sometimes I do, so I then rather leave it. Maybe the Whole Tomato team could make an option to underline well-spelled words with a green (thin) line. I'd like to see this as an option, because I think many people would feel that it might be too obtrusive (too many different lines).
I hope you (or the Whole Tomato team) can come up with something nice.
Thank you for giving it a thought.
With kind regards, Patrick Luja |

personally you have my vote
the problem is that i do not know enough about the insides of VAX to know what is sensible and what is not. extending the context menu sounds promising, and other plugins do this, but i don't think i have ever seen VAX do this.
i will email, and see what support say. |

Thanx feline,
Please keep us posted...
Is there a case-number assigned to this suggestion? (Just to make sure it won't disolve somewhere between the stack of all requests...) |

we may be making progress i had the "cunning" plan to ask about this idea, to see what made sense, before putting in a case. there has been a slight communication problem, with us getting different ends of the stick.
hopefully soon i can get back to you with a case number |
