I'm having a problem with my VA-X. It stops working if i open a second VS (MS Visual Studio .NET) on the same PC. I often open a second VS to get code from other projects or review samples. VA-X works fine in the seconded copy, but stops working in the first one and does not start back up after i close the seconds VS. I have to close the VS and reopen it before it starts working again.
I have unstalled and reinstalled several time no results.
Any ideals on what i should do. I am running the latest verison.
there were reports of this a little while ago if you were running a specific version of (i think) Norton anti-virus. what anti-virus software are you using? any anti-spyware software? basically anything that could be monitoring the HD and effecting VA's temporary files.
which version of VA are you using? 1418 is the latest stable release, but there are also some beta versions available.
Other virus scanners seem to cause the same effect, running eTrust Antivirus here... I noticed the same effect as CanopenR did. The worst thing is that copy and paste does not work properly anymore after opening a second VS instance. This is pretty annoying. I hope you will be able to tackle down this problem soon :)
Thanks for the tip, I saw you mentioning it earlier in this thread and downloaded Build 1424 for testing. (1424 is hopefully still the latest? :)) Will report back how it behaves. At present, work pressure is quite high so I have no time for explicit testing. But I will keep my eyes open and tell you how it works :)
