I am using VS 7.1, and I recently installed Visual Assist. Starting the day I installed it, I started having a crash in VS when I tried to load the project. VS itself loads fine, but when I open the project, it starts to open windows and then just freezes. I eventually have to close down VS and load it again. What is strange is that it happens almost (but not quite) every other time. VS never did this until the day I installed Visual Assist, so although I can't be sure that Visual Assist is what is causing my problems, it seems very likely. Other than the obvious "uninstal Visual Assis", are there other things I can try, such as deleting potentially corrupt files or looking for conflicting software? I have included my VA info below.

VA_X.dll file version 10.1.1418.0 built 2005.06.24
VAOpsWin.dll version 1.2.0.4
DevEnv.exe version 7.10.3077.0
msenv.dll version 2.0.2099.3
Font: Courier New 16(Pixels)
Comctl32.dll version 6.0.2900.2180
WindowsNT 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2
2 processors

Platform: Win32
Stable Includes:
C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Xenon SDK\\Include\\Xbox;

Library Includes:
C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Xenon SDK\\Source;

you could try clearing the cache and telling VA to rebuild its databases, VA options -> performance tab.

you could also try the latest beta, that has various bug fixes in it, some of which relate to crashes.

if neither helps then a log file

or a call stack should help.
