Well, still problems with my FTP (provider s...s).

Anyway, I found that the <map> include from VS2005 produces similar results. Open the map file from the VS8\\VC\\include folder and open the member list, you'll find some weird symbols.

got it. from the bottom of the alt-m list, since this is a good place to see several instances all at once, i am getting:

case=889

I suppose this has the same reason as the one I am seeing with my own code, as it looks similar. Lets hope and pray.

i have never noticed this effect in any of my code, and it is a couple of years since i last wrote a template. my personal guess is that the number is some form of internal template ID. if so then it is probably the same effect in your template code.

of course if you ever see this in a non template class then my theory is incomplete at best *shrug*

Ok, finally got around with that FTP...

As you can see in the shot, there are two things wrong. The numbers in the names and the operatornamespacesystem thingy.
I'll send the .h/.cpp file over by email.

apologies for the delay, things have been rather busy. going over the code you sent me i have produced the numbers in the alt-m list with a much simpler piece of code, which i have added to case=889

i have also reproduced the using namespace effect

case=914
