Well, I don't check the forums for a few days, and look what I come back to! Congratulations on reaching beta.

I haven't had the chance to try it out yet, but I do have a comment about the name. Apple have obviously poisoned my mind, because when I look at the name, I find myself wondering whether to pronounce the X as "ex" or "ten". Also, the abbreviation "VA X" looks very like "VAX", you know, those old computers.

Whats bad about VAX? They've been a very nice piece of hardware and practically everybody knows them (except some script-kiddies).

We were aware of the Mac OS X and DEC/VAX references when we selected the name. Neither one bothered us -- we have respect for both products. (Insert faint memories of hacking on a VAX 780.)

We opted for VA X after consideration of several candidates. We've been happy with it so far.

We pronounce the X as "ex". You will notice our version number is 10.something.
