Autocompletion is all messed up with word wrap. Is this a known issue and when will it get fixed?
I can provide more info if you don't know about this already...
Thanks,

many moons ago word wrap was not supported with VA, but that was reported fixed a long time ago. can you provide a basic example?
i have just done a quick test in VS2003, VA 1440 with C++ and a narrow editor window with word wrap turned on and everything seems to be behaving exactly as expected. |

I am sending you an avi that reproduces this... Please let me know when you receive it.

i have the avi file. i think i see what is happening, the closing bracket is being inserted one line down, at the end of the current word wrapped line. is the closing bracket inserted in the correct place if you turn off word wrap?
at a more basic level i have just been experimenting using VS2003, VA 1440 and C++, and when typing a function call immediately in front of some existing text, when i type ( no closing bracket is being inserted at all, let alone in the wrong place. |

looking at the movie again i see that you are using VS2005 and based on the file extension this is definitely C++.
i have just been testing this in VS2005 with a C++ project with word wrap turned *off*, to remove one variable. i cannot get the IDE or VA to insert the closing bracket when tying function calls immediately before existing code.
can you get this to happen on demand with word wrap turned off? does this happen a lot, or just occasionally? do you know if there is some setting you used to trigger this behaviour?
quite simply i cannot reproduce this problem, i am not even close, so i am searching for any clues to explain why. |

It doesn't happen often, only when I'm doing a line that will cause a wordwrap like the avi file. Sometimes VAX starts behaving and that problem doesn't happen.
Also, I will email you my settings if that helps...

*aggghhhhh*!
right, i have been at this for over an hour, but i have finally managed to reproduce this. it turns out your settings are not actually relevant. instead i ended typing in the code from the movie and then typing various test strings. this only happens under quite specific conditions, with fairly precise string, just to make it even easier to reproduce *sigh*

Fixed in build 1524:
Closing parenthesis no longer inserted in wrong place when word wrap is enabled. (case=996) |
