Lately my company updated our visual assist license so I upgraded from build 1724 to the latest version. What a disappointment and waste of money. There are no useful new features, but instead lot's of things that worked well are now broken. There are too many issue to complain about each and every one, but just to mention a few: * Visual studio (2008) often reaches 100% CPU while editing .h files, and nothing except killing it can help. * Visual studio crashes with run time error 216, whatever this means. * some function signatures are not displayed in the respective window (near the Go button) although ALT G works * other functions are recognized incorrectly on code that was perfectly parsed in the previous version * ALT+G suggest managed dot.net framework functions on a project that is entirely native (as is the whole solution) * templates parsing is basically inexistent or completely useless.
Needles to say that none of these problems occurred prior to the visual assist upgrade. |
