Hi,

I'm a bit annoyed with the following behaviour (bug?):

- I press alt+shift+S to bring up the find references dialog
- I start typing a string which after a while brings up a number of possible matches
- Then I use the arrow keys to navigate to a match (not the first one in the list)
- Then I use the Enter key to confirm the match
- And then Visual assist usually jumps to the first item in the list instead.

When repeating the same procedure a second time, it manages to jump to the correct match. The problem reappears when I change to a new search string. I haven't seen the problem yet when I use a mouse click to select a proposed match.

Is this a known problem?

I don't recognise this problem, and so far I cannot reproduce this problem here.

Do you see this problem every time, or just sometimes?

Are you using a localised OS?

When you filter this list, are you filtering the list down to just 3 or 4 items, or does the list still have a lot of items in it?

If you wait a couple of seconds after pressing the arrow keys, before pressing the Enter key, does this make any difference?

Hi, I've been trying to come up with a better description, but it appears to be tricky.
Sometimes it just works, and sometimes it doesn't work (not a very useful description, I know)
* I see the problem sometimes (but multiple times a day)
* I'm using an US English windows version with qwerty keyboard, I also have a Dutch (Belgium) keyboard layout I can switch to, but during development it's not active.
* It can go wrong with a list that only has 3 or 4 items
* If I wait a couple of seconds after pressing the arrow keys, so far I haven't seen it go wrong yet. Indeed it this does seem to make a difference.

Are you aware that some keyboard shortcuts will change the active keyboard? If you look in the language bar settings, for the key settings, do you have any keyboard shortcuts that would change the active keyboard?

This is probably not a factor, but worth checking just in case.

In the Find Symbol dialog, is the current item in the listbox changing instantly when you press the down arrow key? I am wondering if there could be some delay before the dialog responds to the down arrow key. If VA did not have time to update the current item before you pressed the Enter key that might explain what you are seeing. A CPU spike or busy hard drive might be a factor here.
