I am encountering the following bug frequently, although not invariably.
I highlight a few lines of text. I believe I always do this from top to bottom in the margin (I have line numbers turned on). When I press slash, the text gets deleted and replaced with a slash. If I hit CTRL-Z to undo, and then slash again, it works properly.
Once the same thing happened when I was uncommenting a block which I had previously commented.
As I say, I can't reproduce this at will. It probably happens less than half the time. But maybe it's as much as a quarter of the time.
Anyone else seeing this? |

Errant behavior one in four times is fairly bad.
We cannot reproduce the problem.
See if you can find a pattern to its occurrence. Is it restricted to certain file types, blocks of code, how you select, or speed of your keystrokes? |

It happens sometimes too.
Another problem I found was if I select the text from bottom to top, only the first line gets commented. VAX 10.0.1214 |

One time it reliably happens is if the file has to be checked out from the source control first. (We use SourceGear Vault, not VSS, by the way). However, it happens at other times too, and I have not yet been able to detect any pattern. |

One time when it seems to happen more frequently than at other times is when trying to comment out the first line of the file. There is another bug when trying to do that (see thread 1424): but maybe half the time or more, the commenting fails altogether and the line gets deleted. |

It's not restricted to comments, it seems. It just happened to me when I was using brace to make the highlighted code into a block. (This is an operation I do much less frequently). |
