I have noticed a problem where my text selection is sometimes not highlighted. If I turn VA off, the text selection is immediately highlighted. (I usually turn VA back on, and selections in VA work again. I am editing C++ code.)

Is this a known problem?

I am using Visual Studio 2005 and this version of VA:

Do you mean that you drag the cursor over some text but it is not highlighted? I have never seen this. Please tell us more.

any other plugin's installed?
have you made any changes to the IDE or windows colour scheme? e.g. changing the background colour, either in the IDE or in windows?

this is a new one on me.

Yes, I drag the cursor over some text and it is not highlighted. (Although if in this state, and I disable VAX, the text becomes highlighted.)

I have these add-ins:

1. DeviceCommandShell (used with Windows Mobile devices)
2. Resource ID Organizer

I don't believe I have made any color changes. (Highlighted text is white on black.)

I will try to disable the add-ins and see what happens.

Frank

"White on black" seems not to be the default color settings. We suspect you changed Windows properties or something in the IDE options to get this.

Any chance you can remember the change?

can you try:

IDE tools menu -> Options -> Environment -> Fonts and Colors -> Use Defaults

and see if this makes a difference to the highlight colour? the other thing to check is control panel -> display -> appearance tab
