'Double effective rate of key repeat' sadly doesn't work anymore. I'm using VS 2005 Professional but I think it might stopped working a long time ago. Please bring it back. |

I have just tried both VS2003 and VS2005, using VA 1541 and this is definitely working for me. I am holding down the letter 'o' to type a long line of them, and turning this option on produces them a lot more quickly.
Which version of VA are you using? Do you have any other plugin's installed? Any system utilities that might be effecting this? Which OS are you running? |

Sorry for getting back to you so late:
VAX 1541 No other plugins installed No system utilities running XP SP2
What really bothers me is that is seems to work sometimes and not at other times. Is it perhaps related to the type of file? So for C/C++ files it works, but for .htm or .php it does not? |

Using VS2003 and VA 1541 this is definitely working for me in .HTML, .HTM and .PHP files. Have you tried turning this option on and off to see if you can see any difference? Have you tried creating a new file and see what happens? |

I've tried switching it on and off and for most files it makes a differences, but sometimes it doesn't at all. Haven't tried it with new files, yet. |

Is it possible this effect is file specific, rather than tied to a specific file extension?
Next time you see this problem could you try restarting the IDE and just loading the specific file on its own to see if that makes any difference? |

Will do. It seems I can't code much lately. Customer support and distribution is swallowing up all my time. Can take a few days until I can get back... |

To me it _seems_ like the double-rate state is sometimes simply "forgotten" between sleep/hibernate sessions somehow. When I notice the double-rate isn't working it starts by simply going to the setup menu and disable->enable it again. |

based on an initial test here I am not seeing any problems with hibernate / resume and double rate. However this may depend on the OS you are running, the IDE, the version of VA, and possibly other factors as well.
blg how often do you see this effect? most of the time? half the time? occasionally? |

I run XP + VC6 & VS2005, the problem is I only encounter it occasionally (but I'm sure I've seen it both at work and home for several versions of VA). I'll try to keep my eyes open in the future to see if can reproduce it. |

Any clues would be most helpful. Currently I really am not sure where to start with this. |
