VC6, VAX1541 try the following: 1) create a new file using the "New Text File" button 2) save it as c:\\xxx.cpp 3) type #in
on my system i see #..[list with auto text entries appears] the dots represent white spaces (or what ever) also interesting: trying to mark this 'letters' to copy them (to test what letters their are) shows some strange effects.
Do you have a localised IDE or OS? I am not seeing this problem here, but I recall having a report a little while ago about problems with this button in VC6, it seems to work slightly differently to the new file dialog triggered via the file menu.
and paste the details (from the clipboard) into this thread. This will give us the basic information about your setup.
Is this a new problem? Surely you would have noticed it before now if it had always existed? Do you have any other plugin's installed? Does changing your IDE font make any difference?
@feline: here is the info 1) i can remember that i saw this a long time ago, but it's not a common use case for me (thanks to auto text i haven't to type so much) 2) i removed all other plugins: the effect is the same 3) changing font from 'courier new' to 'courier' changes nothing 4) my about info:

apologies for the delay in betting back to you about this, it has been a very busy few weeks.
schoenherr, * does the problem only occur after typing #? * only with #in? * does it occur if va is disabled via the va menu command? * how about if disabled via the addin manager?
Its a long shot, but have you looked for updated drivers for your video card?
