When a xaml file is opened by double clicking its entry in the solution explorer, an entry is not put into the most recently used list of the VA View.

Interestingly the files are added to this list if I open them via VA's Open File dialog, ALT-SHIFT-O. You might want to try this as a temporary work around.
Xaml files are ignored in MRU list in the VA View
