Hello, on the new 1635 build italics text renders...differently. There are gaps on the ends which make it look like there are spaces. I find I prefer the previous rendering behaviour, is there an option somewhere to switch it back? I'm using:
VS 2005 SP1 on XP
VS's font is set to Segoe UI 10 pt

Thanks!

Currently there are no options to control how italic text is drawn. You would have to turn off italic text entirely:

VA Options -> Advanced -> Fonts and Colors -> Stable symbols in Italic

where can I find this font to test it? I do not recognise it, and it is not listed on my test system.

Thanks for the quick reply; I guess turning italics off will work for now.

I believe Segoe is the default system font in Vista. I had bad luck with Vista, but it's fonts looked very nice on my laptop. ;) Maybe the problem is due to it being a variable-width font? I know not a lot of people run VS with variable-width fonts, but I find it dramatically easier on the eyes.

I am confused, your post says you are running winXP. Can you please go to:

VA Options -> System Info -> Copy Info

and paste the details (from the clipboard) into your reply. This will give us the basic information about your setup.

Using the same font, I am not seeing any gaps so far.

Can you post a code sample that reproduces the problem please? Can you also post a screen shot showing the problem you are seeing?
